While Ben and I were visiting Seattle, Washington, we decided to take a 2-day trip to Victoria, Canada! We used the Clipper Ferry — which was a really seamless, fun trip from Seattle to Victoria. It’s a 2 hour and 45 minute trip, but the ferry is super comfortable, and the scenery is beautiful!

When we boarded the ferry, we were informed there would be “rough seas ahead” which — after observing the sunny, beautiful weather — Ben thought was a joke! As it turns out, marine weather is very different from everyday weather. So, we swayed back and forth, with 4 foot waves splashing the windows of the ferry. Needless to say, Ben was a bit nervous — and I just laughed to calm my own nerves!

When we arrived in Victoria, we checked into Oak Bay Beach Hotel. Although the hotel is a 15-minute drive from downtown Victoria, it has amazing views, a mineral pool, and lots more! Our hotel was within walking distance of Oak Bay Village, which was a really cute ‘downtown’ area. We had coffee and avocado toast at a really cute coffee shop – Hide and Seek Coffee.

After walking through Oak Bay, we actually ended up walking all the way from Oak Bay to Downtown Victoria. Which is not for the faint of heart. Throughout the day, we walked over 10 miles. It was worth it, though, to see all of the beautiful scenery and architecture.

We hiked through the gardens at the Government House — where we saw really beautiful trees and flowers!

Eventually, we reached downtown Victoria, where there is a really historic and well-preserved Chinatown! There are ‘hidden’ alleyways and tiny shops — and it was such a cool place to explore!

At the end of our second day in Victoria, we boarded the ferry once again, and returned to Seattle! This time, it was smooth sailing! We even saw seals on the way back! The view was so beautiful, and I’m so glad we chose to use the ferry rather than fly!

Overall, I loved our trip to Canada! It was so beautiful and so much fun! After experiencing the hustle and bustle of Seattle, it was really nice to escape to such a beautiful, nature-filled place! It totally balanced out our trip and made me grateful to experience both Seattle and Victoria.
