While I love summer, for the past few years, spring has become my favorite season. Before I worked for myself, I had to go outside year-round; I had to commute to work every day. Nowadays, though, I don’t necessarily have to go outside — which is good and bad. Good, because it’s so, so cold outside! Bad, because I should probably go outside more than I do in winter!

Ben and I are coming up on our 5 year wedding anniversary, and over the years, we’ve developed some seasonal traditions of our own. So, today, I’m excited to share 3 of our favorite spring traditions!

Our Favorite Spring Traditions

  1. Spring cleaning. A few weeks ago, we finished our biggest spring cleaning adventure — ever. I love spring cleaning, because it feels like a fresh start. When we spring clean, everything feels fresher and better. We can open up our windows, let the sunshine and fresh air in, and begin a new season in a peaceful way.
  2. Planting our garden. Words can’t express how much I love gardening! I’m not very good at gardening, so it’s nice to have something to work on. This summer, my top project is to re-do our patio. I have a vision for new patio furniture, an outdoor rug, plant stands, and lots of good stuff! Since I work from home, I think it would be so much fun to have an “outdoor workspace” too. I’m in the planning stages now — and patiently waiting for Ben to see my vision, too! :-P
  3. Going to the farmers market. My all-time favorite thing to do in Eau Claire is to go to the farmers market! It doesn’t start until May, but it’s something I look forward to every year.

I’m counting down the days until we can plant our garden — but first the mountain of snow on our patio has to melt!
